Penguins!...Need I Say More?

Anyone who knows me well, knows that I LOVE penguins. I collect penguin stuff. I don't know why, I just think they are adorable. I knew that one day I would have to take an Antarctic cruise so I could see penguins that weren't behind glass. Then, I found out that Sea World in San Antonio offered a penguin interaction program. Lucky for me, I live 3 hours away from San Antonio. My friend, Maria, expressed how she had "hug a penguin" on her bucket list. I mentioned the Sea World program and we immediately booked our reservation. Friday, June 29, we drove to San Antonio. Our little penguin adventure was not until the next morning so we had some time to spare. It didn't take long to figure out what we would do, being the opening night of Magic Mike and all. I'm not crazy, I'm Dopey...Conquering the 2018 Dopey Challenge

Whenever I told people that I signed up for the 2018 RunDisney Dopey Challenge, which consists of running a 5k, 10k, 1/2 marathon, and full marathon in a matter of four days, they would always respond with "you're crazy!" I would jokingly reply, "I'm not crazy, I'm Dopey." It all started in 2008 when I signed up for the Goofy Race and a Half Challenge. This is just running the 1/2 marathon and the full marathon. Let me state, I am not a runner by any means. Therefore, I did not know any good running tidbits...like that you should buy your shoes at least a size larger than you normally wear because your feet will swell. Yeah, learned that one the hard way. I ran the 1/2 marathon on Saturday and was fine. I went back for the full marathon on Sunday and had to stop at mile 14 because my feet were in such pain. Turned out, I had caused large blood blisters under three toenails. Fast forward five years. In 2013, I decided that it was time to run

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, Everyone! Wow, 2018 already?! How has time flown by so fast? Like all of you, I have had my share of ups and downs in life but I am determined to make 2018 the best year, yet. I know, I know, everybody says that on January 1 but I mean it. In fact, I am posing a challenge to everyone. I challenge you to find and focus on at least one thing a day that made you smile. My thought of the day is that I am super happy for it being January 1. I feel it is day one to an extremely bright future. I am grateful for all of the opportunities ahead.
